Jukari Fit!
Friday, April 8, 2011
So you might notice that on occasions I hit serious work out highs, I easily get distracted and am always looking to find the next best workout to get my body where I believe I want it to be... still hasn't gotten there, but here's hoping!
I was invited to the Jukari Fit to Fly event from their creators Cirque du Soleil and Reebok! I had seen this workout on TV before, by all means I am a celebrity junkie and never miss a story. But when I was invited to this I couldn't turn it down for how fun the opportunity to get to do the same workout I have seen Brooke Burke and Brooklyn Decker do! Please I will give anything to have either body, and well... Brooke Burke let's me to believe Momma can fly too!
Here in Toronto, the first location to house this great fitness experience was the King West Fitness, what a great space for this fitness routine. I was unfortunately in high heels at this event and didn't get a chance to try it out but my girl friend did and has already booked sessions to do it. Fun is the number one key!
In Canada you can only go to classes in Toronto and gyms in Quebec, they have locations in the UK, Hong Kong and nationwide in the US. So there is no excuse, time to fly baby! Best thing I can say is it really brings out that fun girl in you!
Cheers!~
P90X-- Bring It!
Friday, March 18, 2011

My husband and I have been super busy, we have so many little projects on the go... we don't always get a chance to leave the house to fit in an excercise routine, I have tried it all currently loving my Zumba class which doesn't feel like a workout at all, and I really love light weight training of multiple moves in a muscle conditioning format.
But when my cousin kept touting the idea of how wonderful P90X was, I wasn't remotely close to believing her, the idea of doing a video/DVD workout seems so ridiculous to me, I am not easily motivated to get a serious sweat on in my home, while my fridge is an arm stretch away, while the option of watching TV gossip rags, soaps and other frivolous television shows.
But then my husband said he'd get on the bandwagon, and we've been working out together... it's been a perk and it gives us something further to bond with that doesn't take extra time out of our day to convince each other to do so. So we have been experiencing P90X through the eyes of Tony Horton, what a great physique this man has may I add.
Tell me what is your favorite excercise routine, what's your favorite way to burn calories? Do you work better at home in your own privacy or in a gym atmosphere? Do you need an instructor or trainer to motivate you?

You know that feeling, when you are working out and you are really starting to notice the difference in your body.
I am seriously suffering from some serious workout HIGHS! Yeah you read that... it's almost become addictive. Here I am killing myself for an hour, sweating to death... come home and all I want to do is keep stretching, keep lifting, squatting, lunging!
I think I have an illness... but it's because come next week, for some reason the weights become hard to lift again, the muscles sore and tender! And you want to kick yourself that you are sore all over again because you didn't kill yourself working out all weekend.
But weekends are for family around here, I kill myself physically during the week.... but my weekends are for events (friendly ones, you know birthday parties, showers and such) or shopping excursions for silly things like clothing and food for us in the house.
But til then... another workout day tomorrow... a hard core muscle conditioning class.
Cheers!~

a sheer moment of insanity!!
So I have been excercising and dieting (s0mewhat!?!?!?) for the last while... you all might have read this tidbit on here.
Now the number on my scale not highly significant, actually it itself can sometimes be slightly disappointing. But now when I look down at my feet the only thing blocking the view are my ferociously large breasts. 36DD--- but that's only because I am too cheap to go into a bra boutique and get sized properly (I like finding my bras at the La Senza or ordering bras from Victoria's Secret.
So feet view... ohhh yeah! So I look down and creeping from the view of my cleavage peek out my toes. Yeah you say, so I can see my toes! But that's great, we should all be able to see our toes, but for a long while my toes had become missing children that had been lost since the birth of my last child. I am what Dr. Oz would call an Apple! I am an Apple (while the term almost sounds endearing, it means I am at higher risk of heart attack, stroke and diabetes) So you lovely beautiful Pears--- you know who you are you usually find JLo to have a fantastic posterior but this is your excuse to feel that been giving mother natures maternal child bearing hips is part of having a booty. That's not a rear, but your hips! But you Pears who want to hide behind having hips, know that you were actually given a mini genetic lottery; you are least likely to suffer the aforementioned health problems.

But here I am staring at my newly slightly transformed body, I have not become no Cindy Crawford, and thinking wow what a difference. I even took pictures... HA! I even took full body pictures in multiple directions and am fascinated at the smaller tummy that has ensued. It was becoming a permanent feature of myself, a constant post pregnancy belly. But it was non-excusable. I am 2 years post-partum! I was excused of the baby weight for so long, as I am walking along with children who can fully recite their ABCs, can jump, walk and climb--- there was no way people wouldn't walk away from me and think, hasn't she lost any baby weight yet?
So the truth is that I wanted to post the pics, I can't get it past myself to get it on here. I can't feel ready to share thus far... but one day, oooohhh one glorious day I will post, Pre-Body and my POST-BODY which I only find exciting to meet. So I apologise for the tease, but there won't be any pictures of yet!

Zumba.... ohhhh Zumba!!!
Wednesday, January 27, 2010

I have increased my overall activity by 10 folds, something that needed to be done to get on my path to a better health, weight goal, waist size and physical ability.
This week's goal is 5 days of excercise, that means other than not being lazy or procrastinating and just getting myself up and around doing the things that need to get done... I take the time out of my day and do an excercise that is out of my comfort level, out of my time with my family and away from my obsession with social media.
So my week starts on Sunday and will continue to do so throughout this diet phase of my life, because Sunday is a slow day, a day where I can get plenty done in my home and then get on my elliptical machine at the end of the day to get a much needed workout. Saturday will be my excercise free day, my muscles also needed it... atleast this is what they tell me!?!?!
So Sunday, I got on my elliptical machine... a good 30 minutes of striding. Nothing to call home about, but as long as I get on it, do the work and take my time progress is progress. But I got on my machine and decided to check my heart rate as soon as I got on the machine. And what a nightmare.... 103 BPM, yeah you read that right, at nearly resting I have the heart rate of a newborn or if you ask me a potential heart attack patient.
So in despair and disgust with my health and what I had done to make it as poor as it has become, Monday came rolling around with a renewed sense of reality that there is an aerobic class that I love that is at the local community center taught by who I think is the best aerobic teacher you'll ever have.
So I went and to my surprise she changed her muscle conditioning class into a Zumba class... with plenty of shimmying, shaking, hip thrusts and butt wiggling and now my core muscles are fritzing, they are begging for mercy. Plié squats that contained curls and other arm workouts and the muscle near my knee reminds me how out of shape I have been yet it encourages me to remind me this will be a long road, I didn't gain the weight in a day it's not going to come off in a day.
So what do you do to keep fit? What is your exercise regimen, please share... I would love to hear anyone else's way to lose weight... share your stories, maybe you'll inspire someone reading the comments section!!
