Jukari Fit!
Friday, April 8, 2011
So you might notice that on occasions I hit serious work out highs, I easily get distracted and am always looking to find the next best workout to get my body where I believe I want it to be... still hasn't gotten there, but here's hoping!
I was invited to the Jukari Fit to Fly event from their creators Cirque du Soleil and Reebok! I had seen this workout on TV before, by all means I am a celebrity junkie and never miss a story. But when I was invited to this I couldn't turn it down for how fun the opportunity to get to do the same workout I have seen Brooke Burke and Brooklyn Decker do! Please I will give anything to have either body, and well... Brooke Burke let's me to believe Momma can fly too!
Here in Toronto, the first location to house this great fitness experience was the King West Fitness, what a great space for this fitness routine. I was unfortunately in high heels at this event and didn't get a chance to try it out but my girl friend did and has already booked sessions to do it. Fun is the number one key!
In Canada you can only go to classes in Toronto and gyms in Quebec, they have locations in the UK, Hong Kong and nationwide in the US. So there is no excuse, time to fly baby! Best thing I can say is it really brings out that fun girl in you!
Cheers!~
P90X-- Bring It!
Friday, March 18, 2011

My husband and I have been super busy, we have so many little projects on the go... we don't always get a chance to leave the house to fit in an excercise routine, I have tried it all currently loving my Zumba class which doesn't feel like a workout at all, and I really love light weight training of multiple moves in a muscle conditioning format.
But when my cousin kept touting the idea of how wonderful P90X was, I wasn't remotely close to believing her, the idea of doing a video/DVD workout seems so ridiculous to me, I am not easily motivated to get a serious sweat on in my home, while my fridge is an arm stretch away, while the option of watching TV gossip rags, soaps and other frivolous television shows.
But then my husband said he'd get on the bandwagon, and we've been working out together... it's been a perk and it gives us something further to bond with that doesn't take extra time out of our day to convince each other to do so. So we have been experiencing P90X through the eyes of Tony Horton, what a great physique this man has may I add.
Tell me what is your favorite excercise routine, what's your favorite way to burn calories? Do you work better at home in your own privacy or in a gym atmosphere? Do you need an instructor or trainer to motivate you?

March Forward!
Monday, March 7, 2011

March is a peculiar month... it's said that March is the month where Winter fights off Spring!
I feel this to be so true for us all... Spring brings on newness, change, birth and blossoming! So March is the internal tug and pull of growth and letting the new win into your life. I like this concept because I believe that yearly we are in a mode of newness, that we regenerate and bring on new projects, new vacations and well something new to learn.

On the blog and in my own life I feel that this newness has been fighting it's way into the new mold... and while part of the subconscious is fighting it off, the conscious part of me is excited that it wins and I keep doing new things that I am passionate about. The blog has great new things looking forward.
Ohhh and I am starting a new workout regimen for myself... I am guessing you've heard about P90X, my little cousin has been touting how great and fantastic it is, never was really interested, but I was getting lackadaisical and needed to get back to the grind of working out and being healthy. And with the idea of the pinks, and the creams, the warmth of sandal wearing, light fabrics all I can think is bring on Spring, I am bringing on the best me!

How will you be celebrating March, and yes I mean celebrating... life is short, this month doesn't go out without a fight, let's celebrate it, how will you be doing that?
Cheers!~
I did it... I was convinced...

Now I have never heard of this particular item before, until I read one of my more favorite blogs from a fellow mommy over at http://www.fabbrunette.com/ ; my monster was slightly different than the one she posted... mine didn't have flax seed.
It turned out fairly good, I drank almost every bit of it! There was a little left and I got busy with the girls and somehow forgot it on the side of the table. So look at that a surge of Potassium, Calcium and Iron all in one shot. I will not complain...
I keep getting fitter and healthier!
Don't you love it...

You know that feeling, when you are working out and you are really starting to notice the difference in your body.
I am seriously suffering from some serious workout HIGHS! Yeah you read that... it's almost become addictive. Here I am killing myself for an hour, sweating to death... come home and all I want to do is keep stretching, keep lifting, squatting, lunging!
I think I have an illness... but it's because come next week, for some reason the weights become hard to lift again, the muscles sore and tender! And you want to kick yourself that you are sore all over again because you didn't kill yourself working out all weekend.
But weekends are for family around here, I kill myself physically during the week.... but my weekends are for events (friendly ones, you know birthday parties, showers and such) or shopping excursions for silly things like clothing and food for us in the house.
But til then... another workout day tomorrow... a hard core muscle conditioning class.
Cheers!~

High Tide to you Monday Morning!!!
Monday, June 7, 2010
So another weekend went by again, they seem to be flying by for some reason... perhaps it's the abundance of sun and how late the days go. But my weekend, which I hoping to be slightly more productive did come and go.
Not much happening here, I am repainting my bathroom, my dining room, deciding where the electrical outlets will be going in my master bedroom and debating if we can figure out an affordable budget to fix one of the bathrooms further in our very very old house.
I did go eat at a cute and interesting place near my home the other night, my mother was watching my girls for me and she had fed them so lovingly that me and the husband had to find some food but weren't looking to cook and add to clutter of piles of dishes that I had gotten through already earlier in the day. So I went and got a pick up order from GBK, if you don't know what that means... it's the Great Burger Kitchen. This little delight just opened around here but all the meat is grown here in Ontario and the animals are free ranged, the veggies are also locally grown... so it's suppose to be nicer on the carbon footprint we leave here.
But other than eating a little earth friendlier this week... I could not sleep last night... actually I can't sleep most nights. By the time I finally am off to dream land some people might be getting up for the morning. I wait it out so long, I finally do crash and then my husband so fantastically saves me from waking up in the morning by watching the girls.
What made today, this fair Monday morning so different... well, where do I start. So you know I am attempting to lose weight, I think I finally have come to terms with myself that under no circumstance is my current weight even remotely OK. But everyday is a struggle and for the first time if I fail or can't do it the next day I am not kicking myself into not working out for months on end, I just get back up the next day or the next couple of days and go workout as hard as I did the day before I just couldn't do it. But in this new found kick in my steps... in the fact that I actually JOGGED for the first time in my life this year, I had been eagerly wanting to go for a walk in the calm of night when really there isn't anyone out there and well start and perhaps into a longish JOG.
I can't believe I am saying this... A LONGISH JOG! Ha, if you know me personally, if you ever spent a moment with me you can see I am NOT a jogger, I was never a jogger. Even during my thinner years I wasn't your epitome of fitness. My core excercise was spending hours on end in a club shaking my ass to music, mostly house music all night. I actually will dance at a club and don't like going to clubs where people are making sure the walls are going to continue standing all night by hugging them as if they were to let go a large catastrophe might occur. (OK sorry tangent again... LOL!) But I was on my high school soccer team but I was not your star player, I played no other sport, I never rode a bike, I can't shoot a basketball into a basket and never learnt to do a cartwheel.
But today as I got out there and was walking at a pace that went on for the full 45 minutes (except for the slight jog I did), I was invigorated, full of live, even effervescent. So with NO sleep in me, I got out of my bed and hit the Toronto pavement it was 7:13AM as I left my house, I got the newspaper coming back around to my house and well everyone was still sleeping at 8AM, that I decided to head out to my backyard where I dug out the flower beds yesterday to make space for my vegetable garden that needs a ton of sun. So I entered my home 8:30AM and had already gone for my walk/jog and planted my carrots, celery and red peppers... I am feeling happily accomplished today!
So here is to a week of many mornings up early, many walks in the morning sun, many things accomplished by 8 am!!!
Cheers!~
